Before making your decision, please take a moment to read the Association for Central European Jewish History and Genealogy (CEJHG) Statutes and our Data Protection Policy, as you will be required to agree to both in the membership process.
This page will help you choose the type of membership that suits your interests and intentions.
When joining our association, you can choose between two forms of membership, full (ordinary) membership and Associate membership.
Membership fees of €50 are paid for the calendar year (from 1 January till 31 December). Those who join during the second half of the year pay half the membership fee until the end of that year, and then will be required to pay for the full year in the beginning of the following year.
Full members are required to actively participate in the association’s activities, in addition to paying membership fees. You will be expected to participate in the association’s annual General Assembly, you may vote, hold office. You are entitled to use our databases, which will develop over time.

Based on your experience, skills, and willingness, you can (and are encouraged to) become actively involved in association activities by taking on various responsibilities, such as (but not limited to) the following:
Volunteers' activity shall be coordinated and managed by the association’s General Secretary.
If you feel that you need more information or a personalized meeting to take on a task, please indicate this in the application for admission as a full member.
We are aware of the fact that everyday tasks and life situations, or geographical distance, may temporarily or permanently prevent members from participating in the life and work of the association. For these people, we offer the form of Associate membership.
Associate members support the association in achieving its goals. They may participate in association events, and will gain access to the association’s databases as they develop, but do not have voting rights and cannot be elected to office. Associate membership fees are the same as regular members, and cannot be less than the membership fee.
As associate member you are still welcome sign up to the various forums of the association (join our mailing list, follow our social media pages, participate in our Facebook group or Forum, etc.), post comments, start new discussions etc.
The CEJHG offers 365 days of access to databases accessible only to members of the association. After 366 days, the associate membership will be terminated, unless prolonged by payment for extending your subscription for another year.
Associate Members are not expected to participate in the association’s work, but is welcome to get involved if they wish, in a manner that works for them and for the association. You can also contribute to the association's goals by submitting your own research data for inclusion in the association's databases.
Please note - our association does not provide research or consultancy services, though some of our members can. That’s another benefit in the networking possibilities we offer.

3. Membership will take effect once your membership application has been approved by the Board and the fee for the current year has been received (payment information will be sent to you via Email with the board’s approval).
Once we receive the payment, we will notify you and send you your membership number and temporary password. When the applicant becomes a member, Their name may appear on the association’s website as a member, based on the information they supplied.
You will be able to print out your membership card.

1. In accordance with the association’s statutes, early cancellation of your membership with CEJHG
must be done in writing, and can be requested via the following Exit Form. Your membership will cease on the date of receipt, of which we will send a confirmation to your e-mail address.
2. As stipulated in our Constitution, the Board may decide to suspend or cancel an individual’s
membership for important reasons, e.g. in the case of behavior detrimental to the Association, or if the member failed to pay their annual membership fee. A majority of four out of five board members may remove any member. Should the board decide on suspension or cancellation, the member will be notified of the decision in writing, and the member’s name will be deleted from the membership list published on our website.
